LUGPA’s ASC Academy

LUGPA’s Ambulatory Surgery Center Academy was held April 9 - 11, 2026 just outside of Chicago in Rosemont, IL. 

Attendees gathered for the LUGPA 2026 Ambulatory Surgery Center Academy, a dynamic educational program designed specifically for urologists, administrators and other clinicians focused on optimizing performance in the ASC setting. This program delivers timely insights, practical strategies, and real-world solutions to today’s most pressing operational and clinical challenges.

Attendees benefited from expert guidance from nationally recognized thought leaders, including featured speakers Scott Becker, JD (founder of Becker’s Healthcare), addressing “The Current and Future State of the ASC,” and Stephen Abresch (Director of Government Affairs at the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association) providing critical updates on ASC regulatory and policy issues. 

Through engaging general sessions, interactive “hands-on” breakouts, and administrator-focused roundtables, participants explored best practices in compliance, reimbursement, technology adoption, contracting and business models. The expanded agenda went deep into the business of urology with dedicated sessions on coding updates, compliance, and strategic workforce development. Attendees also gained actionable insights into post-procedure care models and navigating complex payor contracting to ensure your ASC remains competitive. 

Hands-On Sessions 
Attendees experienced innovation firsthand in our Hands-On Sessions, where attendees received direct training with Boston Scientific’s LithoVue Elite and SpaceOar, Sonablate’s HIFU technology for treating BPH or PCA, and Medtronic’s InterStim™ evaluation. These clinical rotations also included practical experience with Coloplast’s TFL stone solutions, KOELIS fusion biopsy, and Calyxo’s steerable CVAC procedure.

Strategic Roundtables 
Complementing the clinical training, our Strategic Roundtables focused on operational excellence and practice growth. Industry experts discussed prostate seed brachytherapy with Theragenics, profitable interventional MRI programs with Profound Medical, and intentional scaling strategies with Ziegler. Attendees also gained actionable insights into data-driven payor contracting with PayrHealth and proven methods to increase ASC efficiencies, revenue, and patient satisfaction.
