Chad Chubb presents Financial Planning for Early Career Physicians
 

Chad Chubb, a certified financial planner (CFP®) and certified student loan professional (CSLP®) talks about financial planning for early-career physicians including student loans, buying a home, investing, insurance, retirement and common financial pitfalls that can be avoided. Chad is founder of WealthKeel LLC, a trusted financial planning partner for physicians and their families nationwide. At the end, Chad answers questions sent in by the LUPGA Forward group. 
 

In this video interview, urologist Christopher Graziano, MD of Anne Arundel Urology in Annapolis, MD talks about his fellowship experience including hours, workload, what he learned and how his experience influenced his approach to patient care.  
 

             

In this video interview, Marc Greenstein, DO, urologist at Advanced Urology in Sandy Springs, Georgia, talks about billing and coding at a urology private practice. He breaks down the topic for urology residents and discusses common mistakes, handling rejections, prior authorizations, and liability.

LUGPA would like to congratulate the 2024 cohort of the LUGPA Executive Leadership Program on their completion of the year-long comprehensive development course. Their leadership curriculum culminated in a final project highlighting the skills and competencies learned in the series of sessions. Read more.

Dr. Johnson Receives 2024 Resident Award

At LUGPA's 2024 Annual Meeting, Dr. Jared Johnson was presented with LUGPA Forward's 2024 Resident Clinical Excellence Award.  He is a fifth year resident at the University of Minnesota and was nominated for the award by his program director Dr. Phillipp Dahm. “There is nobody I could recommend more strongly than Dr. Johnson for this award,” stated Dr. Dahm at the end of his nomination letter.  

Dr. Kari Bailey presented the Award on behalf of the LUGPA Forward Committee. "Jared has done a tremendous amount in the last few years" Dr. Bailey said.  "In his second year he explored new approaches to bladder irrigation to decrease intervention for clot evacuation. He has encouraged the faculty to implement new technology. He led several quality improvement projects and is the “go-to” person for organizing educational sessions and social events for his fellow residents. His attendings commented that his bedside manner is among the best they have ever seen and patients request him by name."  Read more. 

LUGPA Forward Session at 2024 Annual Meeting focused on Leadership and Succession Planning 
At the 2024 LUGPA Annual Meeting, a LUGPA Forward Session was presented, Sustaining Excellence: Leadership and Succession Planning for Urology's Next Generation, where Dr. Albala led a discussion between Dr. Kari Bailey; Katie P. Desiderio, PhD; Alan Winkler, MHSA, FACMPE; and Erika Ferrozzo, MHA on sustaining excellence in practices, leadership and succession for urology’s next generation.

 

Reviews In Urology Relaunched! 
Reviews In Urology, the official journal of LUGPA, announced plans to relaunch in 2024 following a short publishing hiatus. New publisher Specialty Networks will continue the journal’s longstanding focus on cutting-edge urology advances while expanding coverage to feature an even broader range of urological conditions and specialty care concerns.
